A cunning predator at BCO

A bird that fishes is not unusual but have you ever heard of a bird that fishes with bait?!
The Striated Heron does just that, dropping a feather or leaf carefully on the water surface and picking up the fish that come to investigate.
You can often see them on the mudflats at Gore Creek Reserve – keep an eye out and next time you might even get a fishing lesson thrown in!
