“We’re neighbours, and we used to play soccer here for Greenwich in the 0’35 Men’s Team every weekend in winter.
It was great, but these days we’re here every day to walk our dogs Skylar and Mila. Even though we live nearby, for local dog owners this is the only off leash dog park within walking distance in Greenwich. It’s a great park because there’s a lot of space for dogs to run.
We’d like the oval to be improved with natural grass, not the synthetic, and to keep the open multi-use space.
The council plan for the off leash dog area is completely unsuitable. The space is too tight and won’t work for larger dogs, or smaller dogs either.
Bob Campbell Oval, or Gore Creek Reserve, is a little slice of heaven on Sydney Harbour. It sits at the bottom of a creek that winds up through Lane Cove and is one of the last remaining natural creeks on the harbour.
