‘Lane Cove Council is holding an extraordinary meeting on Monday 24 January concerning replacing the turf on the Bob Campbell Oval – an issue that has been the subject of bitter dispute for the environmentally questionable use of synthetic turf.
The Agenda states that “….it is proposed to adopt a revised Master Plan, to cancel the proposed synthetic sports field and to install an improved natural turf sports field on Bob Campbell Oval and to enter into a contract(s) for the installation of this natural turf surface and delivery of all other elements in the revised Master Plan.”
Finally the community is being heard!’
We would like to thank all our supporters for helping to return this cause to Council.
Bob Campbell Oval, or Gore Creek Reserve, is a little slice of heaven on Sydney Harbour. It sits at the bottom of a creek that winds up through Lane Cove and is one of the last remaining natural creeks on the harbour.
